Mount Rainier Businesses

Yesterday, Mayor Miles went out to visit some more of the businesses here in Mount Rainier. One of her stops was to the shops along Queens Chapel Road. Advance Auto Parts, Joe's Carryout, the Family Dollar, The Beauty Depot, and Boost Mobile/Western Union.

We often see a lot of talk about the shops on 34th street, mainly because they are in the center of our city, and we cherish them greatly! However Mount Rainier is blessed with many other stores and businesses as well.

Aladdin Sizzler on Rhode Island is one example. The owner not only has his store here in

Mount Rainier, but did you know that he is a resident as well?

Did you know we have at least four options for pizza here in our tiny city? We also have two Family dollar stores, two 7-11's, a dry cleaners, laundromat, two gas stations, and an auto parts store!? Not too bad for a city our size!

Mayor Miles would love to see our business base expand, which is why she plans to continue the drive to annex the Queens Chillum Shopping Center.

Bob, the manager of Joe's Carryout was enthusiastic in his support for the mayor as were the owners. They graciously placed a sign in their window not only to show their support, but also so their customers would be reminded that there is an election on May 1st and their voices/votes do matter and are wanted.

As Mayor Miles has said, "Signs do not cast a ballot, but they do remind people that there IS an election and they are invited to come let their voices be heard. If only one person is alerted to the fact that there is an election happening, then the signs have done their job."

Thank you to all of our businesses here in Mount Rainier! Those who put signs up for candidates, and those who chose to remain neutral. We as a city value you all!
