Snack & Chat with Residents of Rainier Manor

The mayor met with residents of Rainier Manor today to hear their concerns about the community and the upcoming local elections. The residents asked Mayor Miles a wide variety of questions including personal safety, issues with the Call-A-Bus, and absentee voting. Mayor Miles has a long standing relationship with the residents at Rainier Manor. Residents talked about the wonderful things the mayor has done with them over the years and made requests to do more. Some of the ladies remarked how they enjoyed their trip on the "Spirit of Washington" and wanted to do it again. When the event was over, new residents were assisted with registering to vote and doing a change of address for their voter registration. Some residents showed interest in absentee voting and were given applications to request those ballots. They were also reassured that the Call-A-Bus would be available on election day to take those, who do not send in an absentee ballot, to the polls to cast their vote.
